Folsom American Little League

Become a Volunteer!

Folsom American Little League relies on the dedication and strength of our volunteers in order to support our over 700 players and umpires through both spring and fall seasons. From coaching to score keeping to team parenting to fields crews, we rely on parents to volunteer their time on and off the field.  Being a part of FALL is an incredibly rewarding experience. If you want to help support the FALL community, please sign up to be a volunteer.  There are a variety of opportunities for all individuals.

Team Voluntee
r - You can assist your child's team throughout the season in a variety of positions. Please note that all adults who are involved with our players, must be registered with FALL.

FALL Volunteer - If you don't want to commit to volunteering for an individual team for the entire season, you can volunteer for shifts at a variety of special league-wide events.

Board of Directors - The FALL Board of Directors is also a volunteer position with the league. Each year, the Board is elected through our Regular Membership of volunteers.  Any volunteer for FALL is also eligible to serve on the FALL Board of Directors and is eligible to cast a vote for FALL's leadership. Board members also receive a discounted rate for season registration.

If you have any questions about volunteering or are interested in serving on the board, please email FALL Director of Volunteers at [email protected].

FALL Parent Volunteer Program

Folsom American Little League (FALL) has created a formal Volunteer Program to encourage volunteerism within the league.  The reason is simple, we need your help! FALL is a non-profit organization that exists and operates by the cooperative efforts of many volunteers; from its Board of Directors to its managers, coaches, team parents, and a large body of other supporting volunteers. This network of volunteers requires continuous growth with a common purpose and goal: to provide a positive and supportive baseball learning experience for all FALL players. We know that this will be a fun and easy way to contribute to a quality baseball experience for all. Simply put, the more involved you are, the more fun both you and your child will have!

Family Requirement & Volunteer Deposit

During the scheduled baseball season, parents are required to fulfill volunteer roles per family playing in Folsom American Little League.  To encourage participation, all families will pay a Volunteer Deposit during registration.  This deposit is charged only once per family and will be listed as "Volunteer Deposit" at checkout.  At the end of the season, the full Volunteer Deposit will be refunded for families that satisfy the minimum volunteer requirements.  Team managers and event coordinators will verify all volunteer participation at the end of the season.

Team volunteer roles (coach, team parent, fields crew, etc.) will automatically fulfill the requirements.  Parents who do not want to sign up for a team role, can choose to volunteer at non-team FALL events where we will give you opportunities to fulfill your requirement throughout the season by working two shifts at select events.  See below for a current list of planned events and shifts.  For those who think they simply do not have the time to volunteer, they may optionally choose to not volunteer and forfeit the full Volunteer Deposit amount.

How to Register as a Parent Volunteer

All Parent Volunteers who wish to participate and earn volunteer credit will need to register as a volunteer so you can be scheduled to assist assigned teams or FALL functions (Fan Fest, etc). You can register as a volunteer directly during player registration. You can also sign-up as a volunteer independently of your player’s registration and the system will track that your family has met the volunteer requirement when you register your player. If you choose not to volunteer, you will forfeit the full Volunteer Deposit for the season.

Responsibilities and Expectations of Volunteers

It is the expectation of FALL that all persons volunteering will dutifully and with good intent assist and/or direct players and/or other volunteers in accomplishing FALL related activities for which they volunteer, treat all players and other volunteers with respect, and act as a good representative of FALL at all times.

Background Verification

Little League International has established criteria for each chartered league’s performance of an investigation into the background of all individuals who volunteer in any capacity. Each volunteer will be required to complete a volunteer application form and provide a copy of their photo identification. A background investigation that will list any type of convictions nationwide will be completed. Each volunteer with FALL will be required to have clearance of individual background investigations.
